1968 Buick Special Deluxe.jpg

Buick Special Deluxe. 1968–9 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 5-door wagon. F/R, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 350 in³ (V8 OHV). Buick’s entry-level model, with the base Special of the previous generation gone in favour of Special Deluxe. The 340 was replaced by a large 350 V8. Fairly reliable versus the competition, though corrosion and overall build quality were issues. Two-door available as pillared coupé only. Replaced by Skylark as GM extended its upscale intermediate nameplate downward for 1970.
