Initially an upscale version of Buick’s Century line, Regal was spun off into its own range in 1975, later succeeded by a range of downsized personal–luxury cars related to the Pontiac Grand Prix and Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Regal returned to a range of two- and four-door models for the 1990 model year, replaced by an upscale, mid-sized sedan in 1997. After being withdrawn from the US market, the Regal continued in China, where it gained a strong following, and a new model in late 2008, on the GM Epsilon II platform, débuted there first. In 2017, Buick announced that the new Regal would be German-built again, and they would take both the hatchback and the Country Tourer, renamed TourX.

Marque: Buick | Predecessors: Buick Century, Chevrolet Lumina, Saturn Aura
