Pininfarina-styled, Korean-developed mid-line car from Daewoo, sold as Buick Excelle in China. In 2007, the Taiwanese redesigned the Excelle, giving it a unique front end, and offered the new model to Shanghai GM on the mainland. GM refused—within months it was revealed that it had worked on its own facelift. The car is still clearly an early Daewoo Lacetti, but the front end is different enough—in a very “Buick” way—to warrant its own listings after 2007 and 2008.

Buick Excelle/Buick Excelle Casa. 2007 to date (prod. unknown). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1598, 1799 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC). Excelle nameplate began in early 2000s as Chinese version of Daewoo Lacetti (J241), with sheetmetal shared with other export models such as Chevrolet Lacetti and Holden Viva. From 2007, the Buick got a unique front end for Taiwan only. Still a fairly dull and unrefined car but at least it looks more in keeping with bigger Buicks.
