Ultimate development of the shape that began with the 406, housing larger Chrysler 6·3 (instead of its predecessors’ 5·2). Very long (almost 17 ft) but well developed and built, with smooth performance from Chrysler V8 and comfortable ride. Series 1 the most sporting, and the Chrysler 6·3 delivered decent power; 411 became more cosseting as it was developed. Self-levelling suspension marked Series 2 in 1970; facelift to full-with grille for Series 3 in 1973; larger V8 for Series 4 in 1974, in an effort to keep power output up in the face of US regulations and a lowered compression ratio. Greater refinement and inertia-reel seat belts for Series 5 in 1975.
Marque: Bristol | Predecessor: Bristol 410 | Successor: Bristol 412
