From Autocade
Revision as of 22:37, 23 November 2014Originally the cheaper Bentley counterpart to the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, Mulsanne began the brand’s renaissance, especially with a turbocharged version from 1982 to 1985 that recalled the Blower Bentleys. Eventually, other Bentleys took over the basic Mulsanne shell, such as the Eight and Brooklands, which were produced till the late 1990s. Bentley, under Volkswagen, revived the name with a model announced in 2009, replacing the models developed from the Arnage in the 1990s. The new Mulsanne is similarly seen as a new beginning for the brand, as the first top-of-the-range model developed under its German owners.
