Bentley Corniche

Bentley Corniche. 1971–84 (prod. 140). 2-door saloon, 2-door convertible. F/R, 6750 cm³ (V8 OHV). From a time when Bentley was seen as a lesser Rolls-Royce—during the 1970s they essentially were cheaper Rolls-Royces with a simpler grille—the Corniche even shared its model name with its more expensive counterpart. Related to the Bentley T1 and, later, the T2, which in turn were part of the range that stemmed from the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I. The name was first used in development before the war, and revived for this line. Ventilated disc brakes, electronic ignition among the innovations. Bosch fuel injection from 1980 on export models. Saloons to 1982, convertibles to 1984, upon which the car was renamed Bentley Continental, reviving an earlier line.
