BMW X1 (E84). 2009 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 1995 cm³ diesel, 1997 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 2996 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Small SUV from BMW, built in Germany rather than the US. Despite name, shares 3er-Reihe platform, down to wheelbase. Smooth engine, ride not the best, and handling very good. Interior plastics are not as high a grade as on the regular 3er. Mid-term refresh in 2012, with improvements in appearance and equipment.
