1978 BMW 635CSi.jpg

BMW 628CSi/BMW 630CS/BMW 630CSi/BMW 633CSi/BMW 635CSi/BMW M635CSi (E24/6 CS). 1975–89 (prod. 86,216). 2-door coupé. F/R, 2788, 2986, 3210, 3430, 3453 cm³ (I6 OHC), 3453 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Attractive Paul Bracq-styled coupé, with the look of the larger BMW 7er-Reihe (E23) that was to arrive the following year, but size-wise it was closer to the BMW 5er-Reihe (E12). Shown Genève 1976. Longer and wider than E9, heavier but also stiffer body. More comfortable than E9, and no longer pillarless. Initially made at Karmann, before transferred in-house. Capable high-speed tourer, with forgiving handling; not the most absorbent ride, given its sporting intent.

Manufacturing locations: Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, Germany; Dingolfing, Bayern, Germany

Marque: BMW | Model: BMW 6er-Reihe | Predecessor: BMW 2.5, 2800, 3.0 CS | Successors: BMW 8er-Reihe (E31), BMW 6er-Reihe (E63)
