BMW 2er Active Tourer.jpg

BMW 214d Active Tourer/BMW 216d Active Tourer/BMW 216i Active Tourer/BMW 218d Active Tourer/BMW 218i Active Tourer/BMW 220d Active Tourer/BMW 220i Active Tourer/BMW 225i Active Tourer/BMW 225xe Active Tourer (F45). 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door MPV. F/F, F/A, 1496 cm³ diesel, 1499 cm³ petrol, 1499 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (I3 DOHC), 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC). A sacrilege as far as BMW traditionalists were concerned, being the brand’s first MPV as well as its first front-wheel-drive model. But then, there were doubts when BMW entered the SUV market. Styled as one would expect, with kidney grille and Hofmeister-Knick, and platform related to and engines shared with the Mini (F56). Roomy and practical, thanks to FWD layout, with particularly sumptuous interior. Torquey triples—the petrol 1·5 is particularly good—while twin-turbo 2·0 delivered 231 PS. Excellent handling.

Manufacturing location: München, Germany
