BAIC BJEV EC5. 2019 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 48 kWh electric. Facelifted EX360, with a slight improvement in range, capable of 403 km (NEDC). Announced less than 18 months after slow-selling EX360. Some technological updates, and battery warranty at eight years or 150,000 km. One-pedal operation, improving braking energy recovery. Digital instrument panel (6·2 in), with 8 in infotainment screen, complete with voice recognition and car networking. Keyless entry and air purifier among features for tech-loving buyers. Did not sell well with the removal of state subsidies for electric cars, with BJEV’s sales’ performance faltering in 2020.
