Not really a replica: continuation series of AC Cobra cars under Autokraft using the original tooling. Ford 302 mated to Borg–Warner T5 transmission. AC name eventually secured under licence. From 1986, Autokraft’s Brian Ingliss bought AC’s trade mark and set up a new venture, AC Cars Ltd. The company also claimed to have secured the rights to the Cobra name from Ford. The Cobra name was also the subject of a lawsuit from Shelby, and some contemporary brochures show simply ‘AC Mark IV’.
