F/R, 1489 cm³ diesel, 1622 cm³ petrol (I4 OHV). Bigger engine—which had already débuted with the Australian Austin A60—along with cut-down fins (at least for the saloon), as Austin modernized the A55 Cambridge Mk II for the ’60s. Not that fresh even when new, but considered dull, dependable transport. Automatic option now available. Diesel optional, originally for export, then the home market, aimed at taxi operators. Twinned with Morris Oxford VI.
Marque: Austin | Model: Austin Cambridge | Predecessor: Austin A55 Cambridge Mk II | Successor: Austin Maxi (1969–80)
