Austin A125 Sheerline. 1947–54 (prod. 11,605). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon, plus other coachbuilt styles. F/R, 3993 cm³ (I6 OHV). Enlarged engine for A110 Sheerline, earning new designation. Chassis also built for companies to put on ambulance and hearse bodies. Limousine on longer wheelbase from 1949. Marketed as ‘poor man’s Bentley’: coachbuilt quality in a mass-produced vehicle. Heavy with sedate performance.
