2015 Audi Q7.jpg

Audi Q7/SQ7 (AU536). 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/A, 2967 cm³ diesel, 2995 cm³ petrol (V6 DOHC), 3956 cm³ diesel (V8 DOHC). Second-generation Q7, on Volkswagen’s second-generation MLB platform, to underpin future Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and Bentley Bentayga, as well as other Audis. New platform used aluminium more widely, as did body (the doors are aluminium) and suspension. Slightly smaller, with 370 mm reduction in length to 5,050 mm, and 15 mm reduction in width, to 1,970 mm; centre of gravity also lower, aiding handling, though Q7 remained reasonably capable off-road. Wheelbase down 10 mm to 2,990 mm. Drag coefficient at 0,32, with underbody cladding and grille flaps that closed when cooling not needed. Four-wheel steer option. Styling fairly predictable, though the already well made interior went a step up with the second-generation Q7, with sharper display and improved voice recognition. Excellent ride for its class. SQ7 with quick V8 diesel from 2016, with sportier suspension and similar refinement.

Manufacturing location: Bratislava, Slovakia

Marque: Audi | Model: Audi Q7 | Predecessor: Audi Q7 (4L)
