1999 Audi A6.jpg

Audi A6/Audi S6/Audi RS6 (C5/4B2/4B4/4B5/4B6). 1997–2006 (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon, 5-door estate. F/F, F/A, 1781, 1994 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1896 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 2393, 2671, 2976 cm³ petrol, 2496 cm³ diesel (V6 DOHC), 4172 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Much more modern shape, giving A6 a distinctive look alongside A4 and A8, as well as BMW 5er-Reihe (E39) and Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse (W210). Excellent cabin, raising the standard among German luxury executive cars, though handling average (albeit improved after mid-term changes in 2001) and steering a little vague, geared more for comfort. Good engines throughout range, and well put together. LWB for China. German production to 2004; Chinese production to 2006.

Manufacturing locations: Neckarsulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany; China
