2002 Audi A4.jpg

Audi A4/Audi S4/Audi RS4 (B6/8E2/8E5/8H7). 2000–6 (prod. 1,200,852 saloon and estate in Germany). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate, 2-door convertible. F/F, F/A, 1595 cm³ petrol, 1896 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1781, 1984 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2393, 2976 cm³ petrol, 2496 cm³ diesel (V6 DOHC), 4163 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Evolution of B5, but with more solid, substantial, better integrated appearance. Classy and more spacious interior, a step up from predecessor and over other German rivals. Better quality. Revised four-link front suspension, though this did not alleviate the problem of the weight over the front wheels on FWD models, which held A4 back from taking class honours against BMW 3er-Reihe (E46). Quattro four-wheel-drive models did not have such issues. Tiptronic gearbox, with paddle shifts, the best of the lot, but at extra cost.

Manufacturing locations: Germany; Changchun, Jilin, China

Marque: Audi | Model: Audi A4 | Predecessor: Audi A4 (B5) | Successor: Audi A4 (B7)
