2013 Audi A3.jpg

Audi A3/Audi S3 (8V). 2012 to date (prod. n/a). 3-, 4- and 5-door saloon. F/F, F/A, 1197 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1395, 1798, 1984 cm³ petrol, 1598, 1968 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Evolutionary looks for third-generation A3 hatchbacks, débuting at Genève in 2012. Similar length, but longer wheelbase, and lighter than predecessor by 80 kg, with aluminium front wings and bonnet. Slightly wider than outgoing 8P model. Cd at 0,31 for base model. Most economical diesel has claimed carbon dioxide emissions of 99 g/km. More refined, with improved quality. On MQB platform shared with other Volkswagen Group models (including Golf VII). Lighter up front for better handling, thanks to the use of aluminium. Decent ride and comfort. Five-door Sportback from 2013. The big news from Shanghai in April 2013 was the addition of a three-box, four-door saloon, 11 mm wider and 9 mm lower than the five-door Sportback.

Manufacturing locations: Ingolstadt, Germany
