Audi 50 (Typ 86). 1974–8 (prod. 180,812). 3-door saloon. F/F, 771, 1093, 1098, 1272 cm³ (I4 OHC). Small Audi styled by Claus Luthe, better known as Volkswagen Polo, a name it donned six months after September 1974 launch. Actually built at Wolfsburg. Very well engineered with high levels of equipment for supermini class and complemented larger Volkswagen Golf. Smallest Audi 50 800 model with 771 cm³ engine.
