1992 Aston Martin Virage.jpg

Aston Martin Virage. 1989–95 (prod. 365 coupé, 235 Volante). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 5340 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Fully updated successor for V8, with a new platform and modern body styled by John Heffernan and Ken Greenley. Front lights from Audi 200 (C3), rear lights from Volkswagen Scirocco II, but blended well to the design. Odd choice of name—French for a bend in the road. At the time, a welcome departure from the V8, which could trace its roots back to the DB4. Callaway helped work on a 32-valve version of the V8, initially with 330 bhp. UK press was enthusiastic when the car was first shown in 1988. Volante convertible from 1992, launched as a 2+2 though first shown in the media as a two-seater.
