Aston Martin Rapide. 2009–20 (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon. F/R, R/R, 5935 cm³ (V12 DOHC), 65 kWh electric. Lagonda for the 21st century, based on the VH architecture shared with DB9. Revived Rapide name from old Lagonda. Stretched to 5 m in length. Effectively a four-door DB9, but does not share any outer panels with the two-door car. Proper seats in the back, though limited knee room; really a sports’ car that happens to have four doors. Original V12 developed 470 bhp. Priced at £140,000 when new. Rapide S from 2013, with V12 developing 550 hp. High-performance AMR from 2018, with 603 PS. Aston Martin’s first electric model, styled RapidE, produced for one year, 2019, with 155 built. Both electric motors mounted at the rear.
