Alfa Romeo Giulietta (116).jpg

Alfa Romeo Giulietta (nuova Giulietta, Tipo 116). 1977–85 (prod. 379,691). 4-door saloon. F/R, 1357, 1570, 1779, 1962 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1995 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Saloon with Alfetta running gear mated to smaller bodyshell, reviving Giulietta nameplate. Facelift in 1981, turbocharged 2·0 petrol model from 1982, and VM diesel from 1983. A good performer for the most part. Alfa Romeo, conscious of its rust-prone reputation, tried to assure buyers of better quality of Giulietta, and it was better than contemporary models such as Alfasud and Six.
