Development of stunning Giugiaro-styled Alfetta GT, with larger engines. Mid-term refresh in 1981, upon which the Alfetta tag was dropped and the base model became the GTV 2·0. V6 from larger Alfa Romeo 6 added to range in 1981, creating GTV6. German importer ordered 20 V8 models for homologation in 1977, but with the exceptionally high price, no further models were built. Limited-production turbocharged special in 1979. Wonderful handling and well priced, though suffered from usual Italian foibles of the era: the tin worm and the ape driving position.
