Alfa Romeo 2300. 1974–87 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 2310 cm³ (I4 OHC). Poorly made Brazilian Alfa, manufactured at Fábrica Nacional de Motores (Fiat Diesel). Resembled Alfetta, but 47 cm longer and 7 cm wider, making 2300 a roomy car, and no components were shared with the Italian model. The platform dated back to the 1950s with the Alfa Romeo 2000 (102): 2300 was essentially a rebodied version of the older car. Engine was a version of the 1975 cm³ unit found in cooking 1900s and 2000, with an aluminium head and two Solex carburettors, developing over 140 PS (149 PS in the Ti model). Equipment improved over the years. Exported to Europe as the Rio, but flopped, over quality concerns.

Manufacturing location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Marque: Alfa Romeo | Predecessor: FNM 2150
