A premium sedan line originally derived from the Japanese-market Honda Saber, for the North American-market Acura brand. The second generation saw the TL exported to Japan from Honda’s Ohio plant. By the third generation, most of the development was done in the US for the TL, and from then on, there were no parallels on the Japanese market. The TL was once Acura’s strongest seller, but by the 2010s, sales had halved, thanks to a mixture of economic recession and the fourth generation’s styling. It was replaced by the TLX in 2014, for the 2015 model year.
