1978 AMC Concord DL.jpg

AMC Concord/VAM Concord. 1978–83 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 3-door coupé, 5-door wagon. F/R, 121, 151 in³ (I4 OHV), 232, 258, 282 in³ (I6 OHV), 304 in³ (V8 OHV). Fairly run-of-the-mill compact from AMC, essentially an upgraded Hornet. Not particularly powerful (except for V8), with average fuel economy thanks to weight. Mexican VAM version had 282 in³, not available on US and Canadian ones. Sold on dependability and an image that was more upscale than its predecessor’s. Quad-headlamp grille from 1979. Three-door hatchback through 1979. Dropped as Renault Alliance and Encore came on stream.

Manufacturing locations: Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA; Brampton, Ontario, Canada; Ciudad de México, México

Marque: AMC | Predecessors: AMC Hornet | Successors: AMC Eagle, Renault Medallion
