Large car from the Czechoslovakian and Czech Republic manufacturer, built both in the 1930s and in the early 2000s. The 1934–6 640 Superb helped Škoda become the best selling domestic brand in its home country, ahead of Tatra and Praga. Wartime models were made for official usage, while the Type 924 was resurrected after World War II, albeit with sheetmetal differences. The later models were based on the Volkswagen Passat, albeit with a lengthened wheelbase.
