From AutocadeRover 800/Rover 820/Rover 825/Rover 827/Rover Sterling/Rover Vitesse (R17). 1991–8 (prod. 123,595 approx.). 4- and 5-door saloon, 2-door coupé. F/F, 1994 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 2497 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 2498 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHV), 2675 cm³ (V6 OHC). Facelifted version of XX, though not particularly competitive in the 1990s. Carryover doors for saloons, but vehicle had more presence with retro grille. Coupé added to range in March 1992, originally developed for US market but never sold there. Revisions in 1996, with rebadging to 800 for all models: Honda 2·7 replaced by Rover 2·5, which was smoother. But very long in the tooth by this point with dwindling sales to the end.
