F/R, 2995 cm³ (6 cyl. OISE). Modern saloon from Rover, its first monocoque design. Reworked engine with unusual overhead intake valve and side exhaust valve, but 2995 cm³ and 105 bhp net. At 32 cwt., P5 felt underpowered, but excellent ride and comfortable cabin. More imposing than P4 and not a direct replacement, but a range-topper. Improvements in 1961 with power-assisted steering helped.
Marque: Rover | Model: Rover P5 | Successor: Rover P5 Mk II
