F/F, 1587, 1648 cm³ petrol, 1648 cm³ petrol–CNG (I4 DOHC), 1761 cm³ (I4 OHC). The replacement for the long-running Paykan, with the project begun by Iran Khodro (IKCO) in 1996. Peugeot 405 platform and engine, but in other respects an Iranian-developed car, and considered a “national car”. Quality said to be superior to 405. New 1·6 engine from 2009. Called Centauro in Venezuela. Deleted on government order, when IKCO and SAIPA were requested to modernize their facilities.
