From AutocadeZastava 1300/Zastava 1500. 1961–79 (prod. 201,160). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1295, 1481 cm³ (I4 OHV). Yugoslavian edition of the Fiat 1300 and 1500, surviving well past the original’s production run. Originally considered a luxury car at launch, and well made, claimed to be better built than the equivalent Fiats. Nicknamed Тристаћ, or 300th, in Serbian, after the latter part of its name. As with the Fiat, an LWB saloon with the 1·5-litre engine débuted in 1964 (2,505 mm wheelbase versus 2,425 mm). Rear drum brakes at first, discs later fitted. Estate from 1970 (dubbed 1500 F), with different rear end to the Fiat. Gearshift moved from steering column to the floor in 1973, and the 1976 Elegant model saw head restraints added to the front seats.
Marque: Zastava
