New sheetmetal front and rear, the latter resembling Triumph Mk II and Stag. New removable hardtop. New rear suspension, overcoming oversteer problems. Interior changed greatly, with full-width dashboard, and instruments in front of driver, rather than placed in the centre. Engine detuned slightly for manufacturing reasons and emissions’ laws. Synchromesh in first. Very successful given its brief run, selling better than its predecessors.
Marque: Triumph | Model: Triumph Spitfire | Predecessor: Triumph Spitfire Mk III | Successor: Triumph Spitfire 1500
