Inside Autocade
Chery A5/Chery A5FL (A21/SQR7161A2H/SQR7201A2F). 2006–10 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1497 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1597, 1845, 1971 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Basic C-segment car, designed by Jiajing with very geometric styling, akin to Volkswagen Passat (B5). A hybrid was shown at Beijing in 2006 but was not realized. Very spartan on the inside, with brushed metal details and dull plastic. Earned a good reputation among Chinese motorists as a no-nonsense sedan, with minor upgrades through run.

Strong acceleration and very good handling, but noisy. Mid-term facelift in September 2004 with more conventional headlamps, losing their “teardrops”.
