Follow-up to original Sprinter Carib, but without connection to Tercel line, and exported to some markets as a Corolla. Toyota Sprinter (E90) basis. Height control allowed car to be raised or lowered 30 mm. Minor changes in 1990, with greater power (up 10 PS to 110 PS) and mild facelift. Driver’s airbag from 1993 and wheel size increased to 14 inches.
