Tata Safari Dicor.jpg

Tata Safari. 1998–2019 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 1948 cm³ diesel, 2092 cm³ petrol (I4 OHC), 2179, 2956 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Successor to the Sierra, on the same platform, but with a more civilized and smoother five-door body. Successful initially, but Tata failed to upgrade the Safari much through its life, leading it to be outclassed by newer competitors. First facelift in 2005; more upmarket Storme model, with new grille and other improvements, from 2012. Storme also gained a multi-link rear suspension, and 2·2 diesel with variable valve timing.

Manufacturing location: Pune, Maharashtra, India

Marque: Tata | Model: Tata Safari | Predecessor: Tata Sierra | Successor: Tata Safari (2021–)
