Sunbeam Alpine.jpg

Sunbeam Alpine (Arrow). 1969–75 (prod. 46,204 all Arrow fastbacks). 2-door coupé. F/R, 1725 cm³ (I4 OHV). Departure from the lithe roadsters that bore the Alpine name from 1959. Said to be inspired by Plymouth Barracuda (1964–6) but in fact its team had never seen that car under development. Fewer dials and more wood than Rapier. Single Stromberg 150CD carburettor only. Cheaper than Rapier, though still well equipped.

Manufacturing locations: Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, England; Linwood, Scotland

Marque: Sunbeam | Model: Sunbeam Alpine | Predecessor: Sunbeam Alpine Series V

q.v. Sunbeam Rapier (Arrow)
