Smart Fortwo (C450/A450). 2002–7 (prod. n/a). 2-door saloon, 2-door convertible. R/R, 698 cm³ petrol, 799 cm³ diesel (I3 OHC). City-Coupé and City-Cabrio with a facelift and the 0·6 petrol engine upgraded to a 0·7 one. Gearbox remained a weak point, with the clutchless manual jerky and slow to engage. Noisy at speed, with harsh ride, but excelled around town as an easy-to-manœuvre and frugal runabout.
