Saab 900. 1993–8 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door saloon, 2-door convertible. F/F, 1985, 2290 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2498 cm³ (V6 DOHC). All-new 900, based on a long-wheelbase Opel Vectra A platform, but with substantial changes to suit Saab’s standards. V6 from GM. Black panel instrument display, which turned off unnecessary lights in the cabin for night driving, débuted on this model, as well as dual airbags. Automatic had three modes. Not the best handling car on the market, trailing the BMW 3er-Reihe (E36), with some body roll.
