2013 Range Rover Sport.jpg

Range Rover Sport (L494). 2013 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/A, 1997 cm³ petrol, 1997 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid, 1999 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 2993 cm³ diesel–electric hybrid, 2993 cm³ diesel (V6 DOHC), 2996 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 4367 cm³ diesel, 5000 cm³ petrol (V8 DOHC). Second-generation Sport, no longer based on Land Rover Discovery 3 underpinnings, but a platform related to the larger Range Rover (2012–21). Launched in New York, the previous Sport’s biggest selling city. Surprisingly, a seven-seater, though Range Rover called the last two seats ‘occasional’. Lighter than predecessor (420 kg based on diesel), thanks to aluminium architecture and lightweight suspension. Carbon dioxide emissions reduced to 194 g/km; Cd at 0,34. Features galore, unsurprising given the clientèle: Stolen Vehicle Tracking, wifi hotspot option, head-up display option, and Wade Sensing and Terrain Response 2, to help when driving through water or on different terrains respectively. Agility, ride and handling emphasized at launch. Fully independent suspension, with double wishbones at front and multi-link at the rear. Four-cylinder diesel from 2016; plug-in hybrid from 2017. Straight-six mild hybrid from 2019.

Manufacturing location: Solihull, West Midlands, England

Marque: Land Rover | Model: Range Rover Sport | Predecessor: Range Rover Sport (2006–13)
