Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.jpg

Porsche Cayenne (Typ 9PA). 2002–10 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/A, 2967 cm³ diesel, 3189, 3598 cm³ petrol (V6 DOHC), 4511, 4806 cm³ (V8 DOHC). PL71 platform SUV related to Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg I, taking Porsche into a market with most writers doubting the move would be successful. They were wrong: Cayenne proved a massive hit on launch. Powerful with excellent handling for the segment. Facelift in 2007, with changes were under the bonnet, with direct injection, leading to some fuel savings, though overall, the Cayenne remained thirsty. Extra power for all engines, including Turbo, gaining 50 PS to 500 PS. Turbo S from 2008, with power up to 550 PS and torque to 750 Nm, with carbon-ceramic braking system. Diesel from 2009. Firm ride, emphasis on performance. Well appointed interior but comfort not its strongest suit, and average cargo room for class.

Manufacturing location: Leipzig, Sachsen, Germany

Marque: Porsche | Model: Porsche Cayenne | Successor: Porsche Cayenne (92A)
