Pontiac Grand Safari. 1971–6 (prod. n/a). 5-door wagon. F/R, 400, 455 in³ (V8 OHV). Pontiac’s top wagon was not based on the Bonneville for this generation, but the Grand Ville, with a 127 in wheelbase and plenty of space (though no more than a lesser Safari). Curb weight at 5,300 lb. Very big and heavy, and out of touch with the market-place in the wake of the fuel crisis.
