Opel Senator. 1982–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon. F/R, 1979 cm³ (I4 CIH), 2197 cm³ petrol, 2260 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 2490, 2784, 2969 cm³ (I6 OHC). Facelifted A1, with engineering improvements, including better aerodynamics (Cd at 0,39). Lower bonnet at front, with integrated fog lights; improved interior. Larger engine range, in the hope of capturing more sales, but diesel failed to catch on, with less refinement from the four-cylinder unit than the five- and six-cylinder units at Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW.
