Opel Admiral B.jpg

Opel Admiral. 1969–76 (prod. 35,622). 4-door saloon. F/R, 2784 cm³ (I6 CIH). Mid-Atlantic styling, with same wheelbase but shorter length, and reduced boot space due to de Dion rear axle, which improved roadholding. Fuel injection available, the first time in an Opel car. Range extended downward as Kapitän deleted in 1970. Automatic only from 1972; minor facelift later that year. Not that successful as BMW and Mercedes-Benz found their groove in the same market. Deleted in 1976, with Diplomat range extended downward to fill the void.

Manufacturing location: Rüsselsheim, Hessen, Germany

Marque: Opel | Model: Opel Admiral | Predecessors: Opel Admiral A, Opel Kapitän B | Successor: Opel Diplomat B
