Oltcit
From AutocadeMarque formed through JV between Romanian state government and Citroën, realizing production of a single model derived from early Citroën Visa prototypes. Factory began construction in 1977, but the first cars did not appear till 1981 for 1982 sales. The cars were sold cheaply in the west and were reasonably attractive. With the fall of Ceauşescu and the withdrawal of Citroën in 1990, the state took full control of the company before it was privatized in 1994 and renamed Oltena. Models beyond the single Y-2 Oltcit got to prototype stage, but were never built.
