Nissan Quest (V42).jpg

Nissan Quest (V42). 2004–9 (prod. 197,759 sold in US in calendar 2003–9, incl. some V41). 5-door MPV. F/F, 3498 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Nissan goes it alone after deciding with Ford not to continue the joint venture, placing the V42 on its FF-L platform (shared with the Nissan Altima (L31) and Nissan Maxima (A34)). Made at a Nissan plant, instead of a Ford one. Roomy, with longest wheelbase and length among its US competitors, addressing one complaint about its predecessor. Second- and third-row seats could fold flat, a first for the US market. Not that refined or well made. Reasonable equipment inside, including available DVD entertainment screens. Exported to mainland China and Taiwan from 2005. Central oval cluster containing gear lever and ventilation switches, among others, proving unpopular and revised for 2007, along with an external refresh. Poor sales generally, though customers found the Quests favourable.

Manufacturing location: Canton, Mississippi, USA

Marque: Nissan | Model: Nissan Quest | Predecessors: Nissan Quest (V41) | Successor: Nissan Quest (RE52)
