Nissan 200SX.jpg

Nissan 180SX (RS13/KRS13/RPS13/KRPS13). 1989–98 (prod. 115,000 approx.). 3-door coupé. F/R, 1809, 1998, 2389 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2389 cm³ (I4 OHC). Attractive three-door liftback coupé on Nissan Silvia (S13) platform, with 180SX name for the home market, and exported as 200SX and 240SX depending on engine choice. Even when it was fitted with the two-litre in 1991, the home market stuck with the 180SX name. The 240SX was developed for North America first and the 180SX adapted from it for Japan; it shared interior, doors and windscreen with the Silvia. Automatic transmission available, though 90 per cent of deliveries were for the manual. Retractable headlamps as regular Silvia headlamps could not be certified in North America. Mid-term changes in 1991, with front bumper remodelled, among other changes. When Silvia was replaced in 1993, the 180SX stuck around in its existing form. Further changes in 1996, identified by round taillights.
