Morgan Plus 4 Plus
From AutocadeMorgan Plus 4 Plus. 1963–7 (prod. 26). 2-door coupé. F/R, 2138 cm³ (I4 OHV). Concerned about the viability of its traditional roadsters, and sensing it was falling behind competition from MG and Lotus, Morgan embarked on reclothing the chassis in a modern coupé body made from glass fibre by E. B. (Edwards Brothers) Plastics Ltd. Shown at London 1963, and received positive press. Mechanically a Plus 4 with the Triumph TR engine and twin Strombergs, with an appreciable price jump. Performance bettered that of the Triumph TR4A. The Morgan faithful were unimpressed, leading to stronger demand for the original Plus 4, and the Plus 4 Plus was ultimately a flop.
Marque: Morgan
