From AutocadeMini. 1976–80 (prod. n/a). 2-door saloon, 2-door estate (plus 2 rear doors). F/F, 848, 998, 1098 cm³ (I4 OHV). Revised basic Mini with rubber-mounted front sub-frame, interior (two stalks), lights (reversing lights in light cluster from 1977). No real changes; mostly cosmetic updates for remainder of decade. BL split into Austin Morris and other divisions, so idea of Mini as a separate marque began disappearing around this time. Clubman continued (see separate entry). Some markets received 1·1-litre; UK itself had a run of limited-edition (5,100) 1·1 Specials to commemorate Mini’s 20th anniversary in 1979. South African models updated, too, with round-nose Mini de Luxe 1·1 sold as Leyland Mini. UK Minis also appeared with Leyland roundel on bonnet. Some sources list this model as a revised Mk III.
Marque: Mini | Predecessors: Mini (Mk III) | Successor: Mini (Mk V)
