Maserati Indy
From AutocadeMaserati Indy (Tipo AM116/AM116/47/AM116/49). 1969–74 (prod. 1,104, incl. 364 4·7). 3-door coupé. F/R, 4136, 4719, 4931 cm³ (V8 DOHC). New 2+2 Vignale-designed coupé, with engine carried over from Mexico and Quattroporte. Named for Maserati’s wins at the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940. Created during a boom period when six-cylinder models were being phased out; wider and roomier than earlier sports models. Larger 4·7 engine from Ghibli offered from 1970; 4·9 from 1971.
