MG MGB (MG EX205). 1962–7 (prod. 115,898). 2-door convertible. F/R, 1798 cm³ (I4 OHV). MGA successor, now with stronger unitary construction and more luxuries, including wind-up windows. Some MGA components upgraded (brakes, suspension), while 1·6-litre B-series engine enlarged to 1·8. Three-main-bearing crankshaft initially, upgraded in 1964 to five-bearing; both rated at 95 bhp. Higher axle ratio and optional overdrive.
