Renamed Shinjin Jeep, based on the Jeep CJ-7, which had appeared at Shinjin in 1980, with CJ-7 and SR-7 models. Twelve-seat Family model revised in 1982, with nine-seat Family Deluxe later that year. The Korando name was conceived in 1983 to take over from Jeep—AMC had misgivings after Shinjin sold Jeeps to Libya—though the vehicles were known as Keohwa Korando Jeep into 1985, before simply Keohwa Korando. Isuzu 2·2 diesel and 2·0 petrol added 1985.
